Let's drink to that

One year ago today, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Time goes by so fast. It's hard to imagine that just a few months ago I was in agonizing pain from chemotherapy. My energy levels are still low, but they're higher than during treatment and they're increasing every day. It's a privilege to celebrate my one year survivorship on a tropical island in Thailand, I feel so blessed. I just hope the cancer won't recur and I get to live a long and healthy life. Those are my wishes for 2012 and the years thereafter. Merry Christmas everyone!

Santa came early this year

Got these nice-looking Bavarian hiking boots from my boyfriend. We're leaving for Thailand on Sunday and we're planning on doing a lot of walking in nature there. Needless to say, I'm super excited about this trip. I've spent the entire week making all kinds of preparations. Packing my suitcases tomorrow. I won't bring much with me, because I want to leave enough space for souvenirs.

Crazy Clown Time

I just recently discovered the incredible David Lynch, cult film director and painter, among other things, is now also a recording artist. His amazing debut album Crazy Clown Time was released on the 7th this month and successfully translates his visual surrealism to a new medium.

Lynch describes his music as modern blues, but postmodern is more like it; woozy synths, twanging electric guitars and processed vocals. The songs on the album are eerie and often confusing, quite like his films.

Verum by Grimoire

The people of Grimoire, a Japanese dolly-kei and vintage shop, announced the release of Grimoire's new line of tights called Verum on the shop's blog today. The prints of the tights are all vintage inspired and equally gorgeous.

Current wants

Gorgeous vintage inspired green lace dress from Oasis. I've found myself drawn to forest colours like green, red and brown lately. I don't own anything green yet, so this would make a perfect addition to my wardrobe.

Divine Jeffrey Campbell Lita shoe in cat tapestry. I'm in love with this print! I already own a tote bag in it.

Owl stud earrings from Accessorize. I have a soft spot for forest animal, especially owl, themed jewellery.

Adorable blouse with heart trim from ASOS. This would look great with almost every pair of shorts I own.
